played by Kevin Kline in A Fish Called Wanda
Generally, a pseudo-intellectual character is portrayed as kind of a wuss.  Otto is closer to what these types are like in real life, a dumb bully, only interested in the life of the mind insofar as it will impress people and allow him to feel superior.  That’s why his grisly fate is so unabashedly satisfying.
